HR introduces HDMI on HDBaseT™ 1 x 3 Splitter

Hall Research adds HDMI on HDBaseT™ 1 x 3 Splitter

The UHBX-3S is a HDMI 1.4 compliant splitter with one local HDMI output and 3 HDBaseT™ outputs for transmission to compatible receiver up to 150 meters (500 ft away). The Splitter supports HDCP, 3D, Deep Color, and 4Kx2K resolution. EDID management is integrated into the unit with a USB port so advanced users can download and/or upload EDID data to and from the device. The unit provides a single RS-232 connector that can be used to receive or send commands to remote projectors or screens that feature RS-232 interface. The UHBX-3S provides convenient LED status indicators for all HDBaseT™ connections to quickly verify proper operation.

The UHBX-3S supports PoH (Power over HDBaseT™) using optional external 48 v DC power supply (sold separately). When used with a compatible receiver, the PoH powers the receivers so no additional power supplies are needed at the remote. The HDBaseT™ compliant PoH performs all necessary low voltage handshakes prior to injecting supply on the UTP line for maximum reliability, safety, and compliance. An additional HDMI output for direct connection to a local display is standard.

Full-duplex RS232 Serial Port extension is provided that can operate at any baud rate to 115,200 (independent of video activity). The extender can also extend IR from one end to the other. IR Detector and IR Emitter cables are sold separately. The IR extension preserves the modulation(carrier) frequency and provides compatibility to virtually any standard. It supports modulation range from 30 KHz to 60 KH.

Compatible receivers include the economical UH-1BT-R for HDMI only, or UHBX-R that supports RS-232, PoH, and Long Reach modes.

Hall Research adds HDMI over UTP Extender with HDBaseT™ and PoH

UHBX-P1 is an extender kit from Hall Research that utilizes HDBaseT technology. It can send HDMI, IR, bi-directional RS-232, and PoH (Power-over-HDBaseT) to 500 ft (150 m) on a single Cat6 cable. The extender uses only one +5v power supply, internally creates 48v PoH and complies with IEEE 802.3af handshake. The P1 extender's sender unit provides power to the receiver.

In standard mode the UHBX-P1 supports DVI and HDMI signals of virtually any resolution up to 4K x 2K to 330 ft (100m), and in Long Reach mode it supports resolutions to 1920x1080 to 500 ft (150 m).

Hall Research adds HD-Cat™ Family 1x3 HDMI Splitter over Dual Cat6

Hall Research’s Model UH-2D-3S is a member of the HD-Cat™ video extension and distribution product line. The UH-2D-3S is used to extend HDMI™ or DVI video up to 150 ft @ 1080i/720p on 2 Cat6 cables to 3 remote receivers (Model UH-2C-R). The unit provides one local HDMI output and 3 sets of RJ45 pairs for connection to the remote receivers. Cables that are of lower quality and construction will reduce the maximum distance.

The remote receiver (UH-2C-R) re-aligns the pixel clock and generates a clean pixel clock for the display, thereby taking out any skew that may have been induced in the cable. This allows daisy-chaining (to achieve further extension), and produces a crisp image as clear as the original.

The HDCP compliant UH-2D-3S uses an intelligent method to report the EDID to the source for flexibility with various sources. The unit is housed in a compact sturdy metal enclosure that is 1RU high so that several can fit on a Rack Shelf. Status indicators of the remotes are on the front panel and it is designed with a built-in power supply.

HD-Cat™ Dual Cat6 extension on Decora Wallplate

The UH-2D-S-DP is an HDMI™ over Cat6 sender fitted to a Decora Plate insert. It is compatible with the UH-2D-R receiver and is a member of the Hall Research HD-Cat™ video extension product line that utilizes dual Cat6 HDMI extension. The unit is conveniently powered from the remote end and no power supply connection is needed for operation. The Sender and Receiver set support HDCP, Deep-Color, 3D and can achieve a distance of up to 170 ft @ 1080i/720p or 130 ft @ 1080p resolution over two Cat6 cables.

16 Port IR Router is a Hit with Sports Bars

The IRCNT-16 IR Router is a problem solver. This universal repeater is used to direct incoming IR signals to specific devices (TV’s, DVR’s, cable boxes anything IR enabled) selected by the user. This prevents unintended switching when duplicate components are present, and allows for simultaneous control when desired. Once all the IR emitters have been connected to the unit, simply press the button(s) corresponding to the device(s) you wish to control. The buttons that are lit will relay any IR signals that are sent. The unit stores and recalls the previously selected channels upon power on. No software required with pass-through IR, supports carrier frequencies from 30-50 KHz. Internal power supply using standard IEC connector.

Hall Research adds BaseT-Cat™ brand HDMI extension with HDBaseT™ Technology

As the latest addition to the BaseT-Cat™ brand video extension product line, the UH-1BTX extends HDMI or single link DVI video signal to 330 ft (70m) on a single Cat6 cable. The unit transmits video and embedded audio without any compression for a 100% lossless reproduction. The UH-1BTX supports Full-HD (1080p), deep color, 3D and 4K video with pass-thru EDID and HDCP support. Secondary data channels, such as DDC, CEC, and HPD (Hot-Plug Detect), are also transparently extended. Plug and play operation with no user adjustments offer a truly trouble-free experience. Hall Research introduces a Fiber-Optic Extender for HDMI & RS232

The HR-731 is a kit of Sender and Receiver modules to extend HDMI and Bi-directional RS-232 up to 1 Km (3280 ft) on a single (simplex) multi-mode fiber optic cable (uses SC connector). The unit is fully HDCP compliant and supports HDMI 1.4 deep-color and 3D. EDID pass-through from the remote display to the source guarantees trouble free operation. Virtually all PC (DVI) and HDTV resolutions are supported. LED status indicators show fiber-optic link, source video, RS232 or CEC extension. The safety interlock feature shuts off high-power fiber LED drivers unless a fiber-optic cable is plugged in at both ends. The unit has locking HDMI connectors and uses RS-232 for control of the data channel mode.

The Sender/Receiver modules are housed in sturdy and compact metal enclosures and include surface mounting provisions.

Hall Research introduces an HDMI 8x8 Matrix Switch

The HSM-I-08-08 a USA designed and manufactured 8x8 HDMI matrix switch with RS232 and IP control is now available. The low-profile unit is designed to integrate easily with Hall Research HDBaseT HDMI extension products for a complete solution. The unit supports HDCP with HDMI 1.4 Fast Switch Technology, and may be used with any combination of DVI (PC) or HDMI (HDTV) sources and displays. Intelligent EDID mapping blends the EDID of all displays to ensure compatibility with source video.

HDMI Audio De-embedding and independent routing to SPDIF outputs along with multi-channel digital audio contribute to the excellent HD audio sound. Control can be by RS232 or the sophisticated IP control system (Web Browser or Telnet) that can be managed from any PC or Smart phone. OSD video overlay to show user defined channel name on each output after it is switched to a new input and a front panel LCD readout sets this unit apart from the rest.

Hall Research Introduces HDMI Audio Extractor with EDID Mgmt

Hall Research has released the Model EMX-HD-AUD Audio Extractor for HDMI with EDID management, cable equalization, audio and video status indication, and USB port for connection to a PC. This versatile device can be used to extract digital and analog audio from HDMI, extend HDMI cable length, pass-thru or learn EDID from any display, and re-clock both TMDS video and DDC data. The EMX-HD-AUD resolves many system level HDMI signal-chain issues by acting as an intelligent intermediary allowing incompatible components to function properly.

The EMX-HD-AUD can also diagnose and analyze HDMI problems. Multi-color LED's on the unit indicate EDID routing and provide real-time indication of the HDMI video and audio types. The audio outputs include both analog and multi-channel digital TOSLINK. Each of the audio outputs can be independently muted, including the audio in the HDMI output.

The EMX-HD-AUD constructs an EDID table (capabilities list) for the source either from internal memory or from the connected output. The internal EDID data can be "learned" from the output, or uploaded to it from a PC via the USB port. Free Windows™ PC software is available on the product's website that allows reading, saving, manipulating, and writing EDID tables to and from the unit.

The EMX-HD-AUD is HDMI 1.3 and 1.4 (deep-color and 3D) compatible, and automatically compensates for the signal degradation caused by long video cable runs of up to 50 ft (15 m) on its input and can drive HDMI cables on its output to 30 ft (10 m).

Hall Research announces Dual-Link DVI Extender w/ EDID Mgmt & USB Control

Tustin, CA – The EMX-DVI is a single or dual link DVI extender that automatically compensates for the signal degradation caused by long video cables of up to 50 ft (15 m) on its input and can drive output cables to 40 ft (12 m). A pushbutton is used to change the mode between single and dual link TMDS signals.

The real power of the EMX-DVI is its advanced capabilities to manage EDID including its ability to “learn” and emulate EDID from any display and manage stored EDID data via its USB 2.0 port. The Display Data Channel (DDC) can either be by-passed through the EMX-DVI, or “Emulated”, whereby the EDID is supplied from internal memory and HDCP is turned off , forcing the source to send non-content protected video without HDCP ( a useful feature for connecting PC’s to video conferencing systems that do not support HDCP).

The EMX-DVI provides driver free USB 2.0 port connection to a PC allowing the user to acquire, save, manipulate, and write EDID tables to and from the device.

Additionally, the unit provides DVI-I bypass for analog RGBHV (or VGA) signals, so it can manage EDID for VGA sources and displays using inexpensive VGA to DVI cables or adapters. In most applications, no external power supply connection is required as the unit draws power from the video source. The EMX-DVI is competitively list- priced at $185 and is available from stock.

Tustin, CA – The VSM-I-A-4-JA4 is a cross point switch that can route 4 VGA (or YPbPr) inputs to 4 VGA outputs with independent audio routing on balanced L/R screw terminal outputs. In addition to the HD15 output connectors, the Matrix Switch provides RJ45 outputs to drive twisted pair cables to 1000 ft (305 m) for use with compatible remote receivers. Hall Research makes Fiber-optic Extender for HDMI + VGA + Audio + RS232

Tustin, CA - The Model HR-733 extends uncompressed HDMI, or VGA video with audio and bi-directional RS-232 to over 3000 ft (1 km) using just one multi-mode fiber optic cable.

The HR-733 provides 3 AV inputs: 2x HDMI (or DVI) and 1x VGA (or YPbPr) with corresponding audio via 3.5mm L/R stereo or S/PDIF digital. The VGA video input is converted to HDMI and automatically scaled to the native resolution of the remote display. The receiver simply connects to the display using an HDMI cable. The unit is fully HDCP compliant and supports EDID pass-through from the remote display to the selected source. Virtually all PC and HDTV resolutions are supported.

The HR-733 also extends a bi-directional data channel (CEC, or RS-232 Serial) along with the video and audio. The RS-232 port can also be used to select inputs by means of special command prefix.

A user friendly front panel with alphanumeric LCD is used for easy setup and control of the system. Tustin, CA – The SC-HDMI-2A can scale a DVI or HDMI signal up or down to various PC or HDTV resolutions. The unit can also embed external analog or digital SPDIF audio sources into the output HDMI stream, and conversely extract audio from the HDMI source and output it in both analog (L/R line level) and digital (S/PDIF TOSLINK) formats.

The SC-HDMI-2A has the ability to output a wide range of resolutions and refresh rates regardless of the input timing and resolution. HR names Eastern and Western Business Dev Mgrs

Hall Research, a leading manufacturer of Audio/Video distribution and control systems, has expanded their sales team. Wayne Childs and Kirk Lane will serve as Business Development Managers for the Eastern and Western United States, respectively. Both will report to AJ Shelat, Vice President of Sales, while managing the company's network of sales representatives and dealer base.

Wayne joins Hall after many years serving as East Coast Sales Manager with Altinex, Vutec, and AutoPatch. Wayne also served as an Independent Manufacturer's Representative in the Carolinas with Hall Research as a key line. His experience enables him to bring an extensive base of knowledge to the Hall Research product line. He will be based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Hall Research releases the SC-VGA-2B, a VGA/HDTV Video Processor that allows any PC (VGA) or HDTV (YPbPr) video signal to be scaled up or down to any other PC or HDTV resolution or format. Advanced features, like X-axis mirroring, make the scaler suitable in many applications.

Hall Research announces today the release of the Model SC-VGA-2B, a VGA/HDTV video processor packed with advanced and unique features in a single compact package. The video processor combines the functions of a video splitter, scaler, scan converter, and bi-directional PC-to-HDTV format transformer.

The SC-VGA-2B allows any PC or HDTV video signal to be scaled up or scaled down to any other PC or HDTV resolution. Additionally, the SC-VGA-2B includes a video loop output, so the original video input is available for display on a local monitor. The processed video output is user definable to be either RGBHC (VGA) or YPbPr (Component Video). Furthermore, the output is easily configured to match the native resolution of virtually any display - RGB (from VGA to WUXGA), or HDTV (from 480p to 1080p) . The video can be horizontally mirrored (x-axis flip), a useful feature for Teleprompters and rear projection systems. The scaler incorporates a large video memory for real-time frame rate capture and conversion with time-base correction, ensuring a smooth image. Input video mode and timing are automatically detected, so no operator intervention is required. The SC-VGA-2B provides extensive on-screen display capabilities, and supports EDID on all applicable ports.
